Pented Learning App
I redesigned the Pented Learning app to help regional-language students stay motivated through gamified learning. With over 32,000 active users, the app needed a complete UX overhaul to make learning progress clearer, smoother, and habit-forming.

The Problem
Pented Learning is a Gujarat-based edtech app with 50,000+ downloads and 32,000+ active users, serving Grades 6–10 in Gujarati-medium public schools. Despite its reach and curriculum-aligned content, the app struggled to keep students engaged and motivated:
Navigation felt overwhelming with no clear hierarchy across subjects and chapters.
Students lacked a visual system to track XP, streaks, or progress.
Gamification existed (points, leaderboards) but wasn’t integrated into the actual learning flow.
Students couldn’t easily continue from where they left off.
Tools like live classes, tests, and doubt-solving felt fragmented.
This resulted in students losing continuity, feeling less motivated, and struggling to find resources efficiently.

The Solution
The redesign focused on simplifying navigation, strengthening motivation, and integrating learning resources into a cohesive flow.
Key design solutions:
Simplified navigation: Clear Subject → Chapter → Topic progression.
Continue Learning module: Students can resume right where they left off.
Gamification loop: XP bar updates, streaks, badges, and circular progress visuals tied directly to learning actions.
Tabbed subject view: Videos, Tests, and Live Classes organized under a single structure.
Progress dashboard: Weekly learning activity graph, XP tracker, streak log, badges.
Support for test prep: Chapter-linked model papers, weekly quizzes with retry encouragement.
Live learning integration: Seamless access to live classes and bookable doubt-solving sessions.

Challenges
Designing for low-resource environments: The majority of users are from Tier 2/3 cities, using entry-level devices with unstable internet. Every screen had to be lightweight, reusable, and mobile-first.
Language localization: The research and prototyping were done in English, but the final UI needed to be fully translatable into Gujarati without losing clarity.
Integrating gamification naturally: The biggest challenge was ensuring XP, streaks, and badges weren’t just “extra features” but part of the learning journey itself.

Conclusion
The redesign transformed Pented Learning into a structured, motivating, and student-friendly experience:
Students can now self-monitor progress through visual trackers and “Continue Learning” modules.
XP, streaks, and badges create an active motivation loop tied to learning actions.
Navigation and resource access are streamlined into a cohesive flow.
The design approach balanced accessibility, engagement, and scalability for regional learners.
Personal Takeaways:
Designing for regional education isn’t just about access—it’s about making learning feel rewarding and consistent.
Gamification only works when integrated into the actual learning flow.
Progress visibility is one of the most powerful motivators for under-resourced students.
